CATHOLIC SPIRITUAL INSPIRATION DAILY – BY ROVAN PINTO.

ALL WHO DIE IN GOD'S GRACE AND FRIENDSHIP, BUT STILL IMPERFECTLY PURIFIED, ARE INDEED ASSURED OF THEIR ETERNAL SALVATION; BUT AFTER DEATH THEY UNDERGO PURIFICATION, SO AS TO ACHIEVE THE HOLINESS NECESSARY TO ENTER THE JOY OF HEAVEN.CATECHISM OF THE CATHOLIC CHURCH 1030.

Most of us after being Catholics do not believe in the existence of purgatory either because of our ignorance or because of our foolishness.

God has revealed to so many saints about the existence of purgatory and we because of neglecting spiritual reading most of us do not know about it. Catholic Church does not teach anything contrary to the Word of God and also GOD will not reveal anything contrary to the word of GOD.

All help we receive from GOD’S chosen people will help us take a U turn from the road which is leading to hell and walk towards purgatory and then once we are purified from every stain of sin will be walking towards heaven.

GOD has shown to many saints(St.Frances of Rome, St.Faustina, St.Padre Pio, St.Catherine of Genoa) and also many religious(Fr.Jose Maniyangat, Gloria polo) in a vision about purgatory but most of us do not know because we did not make any commitment to read about it. Tomorrow on the judgement day excuses will not work as we have to give account of every word and deeds.

Let us not take our spiritual life casually but seriously so that every day we will walk closer to the Lord. Even after walking closer to GOD He may choose to purify our sins on earth when we are living as He has done in the life of saints or after our death in purgatory. We should not think fire of purgatory is better than sufferings of the earth in turn its the other way .

Thomas a Kempis said, “There(purgatory) one hour of torment will be more terrible than a 100 years of rigorous penance done on earth.”
