Word of God clearly says in Ephesians
6:5-6 - Slaves, obey
your earthly masters with fear and trembling, in singleness of heart, as you
obey Christ; not only while being watched, and in
order to please them, but as slaves of Christ, doing the will of God from the
heart.
We all live in this earth under authority of someone.
Children are under authority of parents, students are under authority of
teachers, employees are under the authority of employer, business people are
under authority of government and governments are under authority of Jesus.
When we are under authority of one or the other person we
always try to do things to please them and whenever we are going in wrong way
we will be corrected sometimes with less strictness and sometimes with great
strictness. When we are getting little shouting from parents or teachers or
employer or government we will keep quiet and move on because we are helpless.
In the same way when we are all under the authority of Jesus
we are reluctant to obey and only sometimes because of increasing problems we
force ourselves to obey Jesus and after we receive our solutions we will walk
away from Jesus. When we obey our authorities on earth then how much more we
have to obey Jesus.
When we are under authority of people in the world we
sometimes do things hiding from them to escape punishment. We can escape from
punishment until we are caught but we cannot do the same with Jesus and we
cannot think to hide and do things because He can see us wherever we go and
whatever we do in secret. Jesus also knows the intentions of our heart.
Let us understand whenever we do anything to Jesus let us do
with cheerful heart and with our own will. When we do things for Jesus because
of influence of others it will not last for long but as we move forward it will
fade away from our life. When we do things for Jesus with our own will we will
surely be able to do it with great responsibility and joy.
