It’s not how much we give but how much love we put into giving-Saint Mother Teresa of Calcutta.
We all go to church or retreat centres or pilgrimage to ask
for favours from the Lord but when it comes to giving we all have narrow
mindedness and miserliness.
Giving is always connected to the fruit of the Holy Spirit
that is Generosity, when we have not cultivated this fruit in our life it is
very hard to think about anything than ourselves.
We all have a habit of being in the comfort zone and when
some adverse situations disturb our comfort zone it will be very hard for us to
digest. We all start our career from scratch and as we increase in money
instead of living the same way we were living before we start climbing the
steps of luxury and comfort.
Giving doesn’t mean only money but also time and talent. We
all help someone when he is need and most of us expect help back when the
situation of that person improves. But the truth is if we give something from
our heart we will not expect anything back from them.
Every time we give others our money or time or talent we
should give with all love. When we give everything with love then surely we
will not expect anything back from them. We have to understand that when we
give whatever we can generously we will be surely blessed by God.
We may think that we do not have sufficient money in this
time of crisis but everyone has time and talent to share with others and when
we compare money to time and talent, time and talent weigh more than money.
That is why people who give their time and talent with others even after
working whole day are more blessed than those who just give money in few
seconds and walk away.
Let us make our best of time and give our time to those who
are broken and shattered and let us encourage them with loving words so that
they may have hope in God.
